The Paul Hedfeld GmbH delivers half-round segments according to its standard specifications or according to individual dimensions at the customer's inquiry.
Large quantities of hot-rolled half-round steel made of S235JR with profiles of 40 x 10 mm and 50 x 13 mm are stocked, from which the half-round segments are manufactured.
Usually the half-round segments are countersunk and punched so that they can be mounted on the elevator bucket using countersunk screws on the opposite side of the elevator belt.
Special designs are available on request!
- Profile dimensions 40 x 10 mm / 50 x 13 mm

In order to run the elevator bucket with a half-round segment, it requires a bead on the rear wall. The bead is already placed on the rear wall during the manufacture of the shell plate and its geometry is based on the profile of the half-round segment which will be used.

This fastening method is based on VDI 2324. According to this guideline, the mechanical stresses that occur during the operation of a belt bucket elevator are transferred to the elevator belt by the bucket fastening.
The use of half-round segments converts the force exerted from a point load into surface pressure. This can contribute to a longer service life for the elevator belt due to the more even allocation of the force acting on the belt.
